Description

MAX 1000 Siliconized Acrylic Caulk is an elasto-plastic one-component sealant (acrylic based dispersion) with a maximum movement accommodation of 15% for sealing joints in indoor and outdoor applications. It cross-links by drying out.

MAX 1000 Siliconized Acrylic Caulk is paintable after 3 hours, however elastic expansion joints should not be painted. Due to the wide range of paints existing on the market paint-over-pilot-tests are necessary.

FIELDS OF APPLICATION:

Sealing joints and connecting joints which are not exposed to excessive movement: between plaster, concrete, masonry, brickwork, anodised aluminium, gypsum, PVC, and wood, e. g. for sealing joints of window sills, door connections, window connections, shutters’ boxes, sealing light weight walls, ceiling outlets etc., renovation work i.e. sealing cracks, wall outlets of plastic pipes, sealing in paint industries.

MAX 1000 Siliconized Acrylic Caulk should not be used in sanitary areas, on marble/natural stone, on bituminous substrates and untreated (not primed) metallic substrates.

PRODUCT FEATURES:

• elasto-plastic sealant (acrylic based dispersion)
• paintable after 3 hours ( silicone free) / paint compatible

WORKING METHOD

Substrate Treatment:
• The substrate must be dry, clean and free from dust, oil and grease.
• Porous substrates, e. g. concrete and untreated wood are to be pre-treated with a diluted sealant (GE Acrylic Sealant with water in a ratio of 1:1 to 1:5) (= primer application).
• Before applying primer remove cement grouts, release agents and (oil) - coatings / impregnations.
• In case of renovation works, old sealant as well as old paints must be removed completely.
• It is recommended to apply a suitable back-up material (closed cell polyethylene backer rod or PE-foil) on the bottom of the joint in order to prevent sticking of the sealant to the back of the joint.

Tooling:
• The sealant can be tooled with water or a neutral non-dyeing tooling liquid.
• The operational ability of Max 1000 Siliconized Acrylic Caulk can only be granted in case of a perfect processing according to the joint dimensions.
• Application of the sealant during extreme temperature variations should be avoided.
